Organized Play Foundation is Warhorn’s New Owner
The Organized Play Foundation has announced that it is the new owner of Warhorn, the game signup site used by many conventions and local gaming groups. Warhorn had been searching for new ownership since its original creator and maintainer announced his intention to let it go in April.
The OPF statement sent to all current Warhorn users says in part:
The OPF will foster inclusivity by never charging players for using Warhorn, which will remain a platform-neutral and ad-free site. Any player who uses Warhorn or wants to join in the future will have their data protected and will never be monetized for corporate interest. It is important to us that Warhorn remains accessible and a safe place for our community to connect.
Warhorn will be vital to fulfilling the OPF’s mission to support the gaming community of volunteers and players by providing fun, safe, and inclusive resources and experiences.
At the time the search for a new owner began, the OPF was the subject of much speculation as a good fit for new ownership, but it refused to comment on whether it was considering any such thing.
The Organized Play Foundation came into being when the game publisher Paizo spun off its volunteer support program. The OPF is now a separate, nonprofit, organization that looks to support organized play for as many different game systems as possible.
The OPF has set up a new page to take donations to support Warhorn.

WisCon has secured enough volunteers to announce an online event to be held on its traditional Memorial Day weekend dates next year.
Free Play Florida (Lakeland, Florida, November 22-24) has added Carlos Pesina and Anthony Marquez.
Origins Game Fair (Columbus, Ohio, June 18-22) has added Justina Ireland.
Metropol Con Berlin (Berlin, July 22-25, 2026), which is now also the 2026 Eurocon, has announced its first guests of honor will be Becky Chambers and Aiki Mira.
